Pinewood Derby Build Day this Saturday

Lions,

Pinewood Derby Build Day is this Saturday at the church! Build Day offers an opportunity for families to pick out a design, re-drill axel holes (if desired), cut and sand your car, and polish your axels and wheels. The goal is to get your cars to where all our scouts would need to do at home is paint and finishing touches. Build Day is open to all our Cub Scouts but is especially helpful for those without the proper tools and/or know-how.

To help with the flow of traffic between stations we request you sign up for a time slot. Time slots are 1.5hr long and begin every 30min starting at 8am. Please use the signup genius here: Cub Scouts: Pinewood Derby Build Day 2025

If you are a parent of an older scout and this Pinewood Derby is not your first rodeo, or if you’re handy with power tools and are available to help Saturday morning, WE NEED YOU! Build Day is not possibly without help from our wonderful parents. We need assistance with stations from showing scouts how to draw the design on their block, redrilling axels, helping with traffic flow, and most importantly manning the band saws (a reminder, cubs are not allowed to use power tools!). Please signup to work a station here: All Dens: Pinewood Derby Build Day Help 2025

The theme for Pinewood Derby is Cub Scouts Assemble! (Super Heros). You do NOT have to design your car based on the theme; have fun with it! I can’t wait to see everyone’s finished cars and am looking forward to a fantastic first PWD for our Lions!
