Crossover Campout – Change of Plans

Good Evening Troop!

With thunderstorms forecast for Saturday (starting around 11 am), we are changing our campout plans.

CROSSOVER WILL CONTINUE AS PLANNED – We would like as many Scouts as possible to be present at the Crossover Ceremony, even if you are not camping, to help welcome our new Scouts to the Troop.

Campout Update –

After Crossover, Scouts will pitch tents and set up the patrol gear on the baseball field. We plan on a Cracker Barrel and a campfire on Friday night. Saturday morning, Scouts will wake up, break camp, and prepare breakfast from their chuckboxes (just like a regular campout). After breakfast, there will be stations and rotations (just as we planned) using the Friendship Hall, the Pavilion, and other spaces at the church. Fireman’s Chit (Fire Building), Totin’ Chip (cutting tools), and First Aid, among others. Patrols will cook the lunch they had planned, and we’ll continue the program until 2 PM.

Scouts will need to be picked up at the church at 2 PM on Saturday.

I know this is not the ideal campout experience we had in mind, but we are making the best of a wet weekend.
