Final Year of Cubs!!!

Hello Arrow of Light Parents!!

I hope you and your kids are just as excited as Lacey and I are for another fun-filled year! It’s hard to believe, but this will be our final year as Cub Scouts before crossing over on January 31.

Since this year looks a little different as we prepare our scouts for their next steps, please take a few minutes to read through these important notes:

  • Troop Visits: We’d love for your scout to cross over into Troop 359 if that’s the right fit for your family. To help give them a feel for the troop, we’ll meet with them on Tuesday, October 14 (instead of our usual Monday meeting). If there’s interest in visiting other troops, let Lacey or me know and we’ll try to arrange that as well.

  • Camping Requirement: Each Arrow of Light scout is required to camp with their patrol (our den) at least once this year. Our hope is to complete this (and a few other requirements) at our Fall Family Camp, November 7–8 in Lindale. If your family cannot attend, please let me know right away. If enough families need another option, I’ll do my best to schedule a second campout. Please remember, these requirements are necessary for completing Arrow of Light, so it’s important we make a plan that works for everyone.

  • Crossover Ceremony: This is a big milestone, and we want to celebrate our scouts in a special way! We’ll need a few parents to help with planning and fundraising. Lacey and I already have some ideas, but we’d love your input too.

  • Snack Sign-Up: Thank you to everyone who signed up at the meeting! I still have a few open dates (including next week), so if I didn’t get a chance to catch you, please reach out and claim a spot. We’d like to make sure every meeting has a snack covered for our scouts.

  • Health Forms: As always, updated health forms are required for the year. Please make sure those are turned in soon.

Thank you all for your support and teamwork. Our scouts have worked so hard to get here, and I know this will be a memorable final year together. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or ideas on how we can make this year even better!
